What is it with our instinct to stickybeak inside other people's homes? I guess you could call it human curiosity.
Architectural Digest and Vogue 73 Questions are only recent iterations of a format that stretches back to shows like MTV cribs and the pre-internet Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.
When approached to cast, produce and direct a branded socials series inspired by this popular tradition, the important thing was to find real creative people (instagrammers) with niche interests who don't just have nice homes but have a genuine connection to the 'precious' possessions within them.
These days a brand might get away with shooting internet-first content on any decent iphone, but when a big brand needs brightness and optimism, elevated production values can be achieved with a small crew, a good cinema camera, gimbal and lighting. Oh, and developing a relaxed rapport with the talent via a healthy dose of human curiosity is a must!
